Hello Loyal Doylers!
Nicole here again. Hope you’re all enjoying this (gross looking) Friday afternoon and gearing up for the weekend! In the meantime, I want to thank EVERYONE who came out to Pumpkinfest ’11 last week! The event was a tremendous success. People drank, ate, laughed, enjoyed some live music, and generally had a wonderful time — I know I did!

If you’re curious, I was running around with a camera and a crazy haircut trying to introduce myself to as many people as possible. Hopefully none of you were too frightened or annoyed that I was momentarily pausing your consumption.
If you missed it (which is a damn shame), I can recap some of the highlights for you:
1. TJ and Tom from Cape Ann Brewing rolled in in North Shore style — with a carved-out pumpkin that they TAPPED and served their amazing stout in!

TJ & Tom of Cape Ann with their amazing pumpkin stout!
2. A friend of our bar manager, Joel, came in and decided to one-up us in the sugar rim department. He coated a glass in caramel from Ben and Jerry’s and THEN threw on the sugar rim. Instant success.
3. We had ELEVEN pumpkin beers on at once, and it was two floors of jack-o-madness.
4. Our chef, Stuart Rojas, cranked out an amazing repertoire of autumnal delights. We started the night with some homemade pumpkin bisque, which was the perfect compliment to the rainy, brisk night. From there we served up grilled autumn veggie skewers with peanut/pumpkin dipping sauce and our recently-invented pumpkin wings – they were probably the biggest culinary hit of the night. After a brief break so people could focus on the more important things at hand (the beer, duh), we served some entrees. We had roasted turkey and cranberry remoulade as well as two types of raviolis, pumpkin and butternut squash. They were both served in a light maple cream sauce. All of the dishes served that night are currently still being featured as specials that will be available all month! Stop in and try them out if you didn’t get a chance to make it last Wednesday.
5. After everyone was pumpkined out and headed home for the evening, we got a chance to catch our breath and tally up the Golden Pumpkin votes. Turns out that the winner of the First Annual TD’s Golden Pumpkin was none other than the Pumpkin Stout from our friends at Cape Ann! Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin was a close success.
I hope everyone had as much fun as we did last week, and we hope to see all your beautiful faces again next year! Thanks for helping us make this event a huge success.
The pumpkin beers are still on tap in the Crimson Lounge, as well as a few others available on all the bars. Stop in for a pint! The sugar rim is optional, but strongly recommended.
Cheers!

Hello Doylers!
First off, I’d like to introduce you to our new website! Snazzy, right? We knew our old one needed a serious upgrade; we hope you like what we’ve done with it. There’s a ton of cool new stuff like a Flickr feed and Twitter updates, so you can stay in the loop with us!
Second – and way more importantly – I want to tell you ALL about an awesome little event we’ve been cooking up here at TD’s. It’s called PUMPKINFEST, and it’s exactly what it sounds like. The citizens of the Greater Boston Area are spoiled by the fruits of New England, and in the fall, it means pumpkins – and pumpkin beer! To usher in the new season and the delicious brews they inspire, we’re taking over the taps in our basement craft beer bar, The Crimson Lounge, and we’re going pumpkin crazy. October 5th and 6th are the kickoff nights. Wednesday the 5th will feature 5 ounce tasting cups for all ticketholders, unlimited access to a buffet of pumpkin-inspired dishes (think pumpkin ravioli, pumpkin soup, pumpkin pie, etc), a live blues band, free beer swag, a DJ, and much more! Space is limited so be sure to get a ticket. All ticket sales can be done at www.pumpkinfest11.eventbrite.com.
For those who can’t make it on the 5th – or would prefer to attend a free event – there’s an encore! Thursday the 6th is open to the public and we’ll have pumpkin tasting flights available for purchase. We’ll also have pumpkin food specials for order off of our menu. You can also join us for our weekly trivia night at 8pm, and stick around for a DJ and dance party after!
In keeping with the whole October-beer-drinking theme, we’ve also brought in a sweet new toy – Das Boot! They’re glass 2-litre German-style boots. They’re available for any draft beer (besides nitro taps). Beware though – you break it, you buy it, and these puppies aren’t cheap so tread lightly. If you fear you can’t handle the boot, wear those sticky gloves NFL receivers wear. Or the glue stuff they use in the Little Giants.
If for some crazy reason you’re not following us on Twitter, do that! Do it now! By following us at @tommydoyles, you can stay in the loop on specials, discounts, updated draft lists, contest, and a whole lot more.
We have a lot more to introduce you to this fall, so stay tuned for more Tommy Doyle’s updates!
Slainte!
